JOIN as a new member

 

General Information: Membership period is January to 31 December for a given year.  You are welcome to join NAOP. Membership includes subscription to the journal Psychological Studies published jointly by Springer and NAOP. Please see instructions below. New memberships and renewals will close on 31 March.

Full Members of NAOP should have a Master’s degree in Psychology or related disciplines and be involved in one or more aspects related to teaching, research and practice. Those without a Master degree in psychology or related disciplines (including students in psychology at Bachelor or Master level and others who are practitioners without a master degree in psychology or related disciplines) can become Associate Members without voting rights. All prospective members have to go through the application process and will become a Member or Associate Member  of the Academy with the payment of the prescribed dues. A person shall continue to be a member so long as the annual dues are regularly paid. A person shall cease to be a member either by default or by unanimous decision of the Working Committee. 

 

Fees and category of membership

1. Associate Member (Bachelor and Masters students and Ph.D scholars without any fellowship) - One Year- Rs. 500/- (only e-copy of journal).

2. Full Member (Postgraduate, Doctorate in psychology and allied areas. PhD students with fellowships)  - One Year- Rs. 1000/-

3. Full Member- Five Years- Rs. 4500/- 

4. Full Member (Foreign Resident)- 25 USD for one year and 100 USD for five years (only e-copy of the Journal)

Renewing Membership

Continue your association with NAOP by renewing your membership. Subject to other provisions of the statutes, the persons who become Associate Members or Full Members can keep their membership on payment of the membership fees. Associate members need to send a copy of their current identity card which has a date of validity mentioned. PhD students who want to apply under associate member category need to attach a copy of a letter from the Dean/HOD certifying that no scholarship of any kind is paid to the student. If scholarships are paid, a PhD student should apply as full member.

  • Please deposit the membership fees online via bank transfer to NAOP as per your membership category and send (a) the copy of the receipt of the bank transaction for paying the membership fees and (b) your personal details consisting of Name, Email, Contact Address, Phone number via email to the treasurer@naopindia.org. Once your membership dues are processsed, your account will be active.

 

 

Apply for new membership 

 New membership shall be conferred on a psychologist by invitation/nomination/application.  To apply for new membership:

  • Step 1: Deposit the membership fees as per the category. After depositing the fees online (for details regarding payment of fees, see above information about bank account), please send the following information via email to the treasurer@naopindia.org : (a) the copy of the receipt of the bank transaction for paying the membership fees, (b) scanned copy of your highest educational degree and (c) your personal details consisting of Name, Email, Contact Address, Phone number. Associate members need to send a copy of their current identity card which has a date of validity mentioned. PhD students who want to apply under associate member category need to attach a copy of a letter from the Dean/HOD certifying that no scholarship of any kind is paid to the student. If scholarships are paid, a PhD student should apply as full member.
  • Step 2: Once your payment is confirmed, your account shall be created by the treasurer with your email address from which you send the email. You will receive an email with a  username and password to login.  Please print this email and keep for your records (which serves as a receipt of payment also). After logging in, please fill in all your details.​ Please note that the responsibility of updated and correct information rests with the member. NOTE1:  If you register as a new member at NAOP conference, we shall directly implement step 2 for you.
NOTE 2: If anybody requires a receipt for logistical official purposes, you can email the treasurer@naopindia.org and send a request for sending a receipt.
