As mandated by its constitution, the National Academy of Psychology performs its various functions through its autonomous standing committees. The committees are autonomous bodies within NAOP’s administrative structures to oversee and advance different academic and professional activities. The Chair and members of these committees are nominated by NAOP’s Executive Committee.

Membership Committee- The membership Committee holds the important responsibility to address all issues related to membership. Membership applications to join NAOP is evaluated by this committee.

Publication Committee: The Publication Committee of NAOP is responsible to oversee the publications of the Academy and make recommendations to the Executive Council on publication policies, subscription rates, and annual budgets. It also appoints Editors of the Academy’s publications.

Finance Committee: The Treasurer, as Chair of this Committee, is entrusted with the responsibility of generating financial resources and ensuring their efficient management. The Committee also oversees the preparation of the annual budget, reviews financial and audit reports, and manages the assets of the Academy.

Fellowship & Awards Committee: The Fellowship and Awards Committee holds the important responsibility of recommending individuals each year for election as Fellows of the Academy. Conference Committee: The Committee plan and oversee the conduct of the Annual and regional Conventions at a time and place decided by the Executive Council. The Committee liaison with the local Organizing Committee of the conventions to oversee and advise on the organization of the Conference.

Election Committee: The election Committee is responsible for securing nominations for President, Secretary-General, Treasurer, and Members-at-Large from the members. It is also responsible for preparing slates of nominees based on regulations. The Committee develops a procedure to be approved by the Council of Members for casting of votes and shall be responsible for making a count of the election ballots and reporting the results to the Council of Members.

Accreditation and Certification Committee: The Accreditation and Certification Committee's responsibility is to develop accreditation policy, norms, and procedures for accreditation of educational and training programmes with a view to developing professionals in Psychology. Its stated purpose is to enhance the quality of delivering psychological services. It develops necessary regulations in this connection. The committee also adjudicates and addresses complaints involving malpractices about psychology professionals from individuals and organizations. It also liaison with government agencies and other organizations.

Ethics Committee: The Ethics Committee's responsibility is to receive complaints of unethical conduct of its members including Fellows, Associate Members, and Foreign Affiliates and develop procedures to investigate them. It makes recommendations for appropriate action against the member such as termination of membership. The Committee is also responsible to develop the rules and ethical code for professional conduct.

Social Policy Committee: The committee is entrusted to work with government and non-government organizations on policy matters associated with issues related to human and societal development. The policy committee also works on NAOP initiated activities related to social policies.

Liaison Committee: the Liaison Committee acts on behalf of NAOP to collaborates with psychologists and organizations engaged in the promotion of psychological and allied sciences and practice within India and worldwide. The committee will consist of three senior members who are internationally recognized. The committee makes recommendations about those who will act as official representatives of the Academy in various International Associations as well as the names of scholars who can be invited to give special lectures, if asked to suggest names. The Committee also seeks to develop collaboration with various Associations around the World with respect to mutual interests.
